Founded in 2018 by Lucia Vambe, the Zimbabwe Life Project is a group of mental health nurses, doctors and therapists in the UK who have come together with one aim, to develop a skills exchange program with mental health professionals in Zimbabwe which will be marked by participatory exchanges of knowledge, skills and experiences. One of the main overarching aims is to share specialist mental health skills and build positive partnerships between mental health professionals in the UK and in Zimbabwe.
ZLP is a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) registered both in the UK and in Zimbabwe.
Our Mission
Is to share learning and facilitate the exchange of knowledge between mental health professionals in the UK and in Zimbabwe, supporting the review of the mental health systems and helping improve the quality of patient care and processes where possible. Raising funds and donations in the UK and overseeing their delivery to areas of identified need in Zimbabwe.
Our Values
We care about people with mental health issues. We are passionate about sharing learning and improving the quality of care. We believe in supporting mental health services and are committed to sourcing donations where we can and delivering to areas of need in Zimbabwe.
Our Vision
Is to improve the lives of people with mental health problems, their families and the staff who care for them in Zimbabwe.
